The birth of my infatuation or perhaps I should say my obsession with photography began in the mid nineties. Then my main subjects were my children, since my children have left the nest for many years now my passion for photography has never faded but rather grown in a different direction. I have discovered that beauty is never ending, taking on forms that I could have never imagined. I feel blessed that my world has expanded through photography and hope my passion never weakens.

St. Anne Convent

As I was heading down Rt. 8 I came across this Convent that I had absolutely no idea that existed. The building itself reminded me of a mental institution, I've watched way to many Ghost Adventure shows. I wasn't going to ride up the very long driveway but the view was just to tempting to just turn around and leave.
As I approached the darkened building I knew that I had made the right decision. I have no history about the building but was amazed at the lack of use. I saw only a couple of lights on which makes me wonder how many really reside in this building.

It wasn't until I drove to the back of the parking lot did I notice the cemetery, it was creepy yet beautiful. You almost felt a peace come over you. Those that were buried here knew that they were spending eternity with the ones they loved and God.

I plan on returning very soon and probably often, the grounds are open to the public as is the gardens and wetlands. What a gem of a place, a definite must to visit.
