The birth of my infatuation or perhaps I should say my obsession with photography began in the mid nineties. Then my main subjects were my children, since my children have left the nest for many years now my passion for photography has never faded but rather grown in a different direction. I have discovered that beauty is never ending, taking on forms that I could have never imagined. I feel blessed that my world has expanded through photography and hope my passion never weakens.

Deer In My Front Yard

I went out to feed the birds this morning and found two deer searching for food. They have been venturing closer and closer to the cabin recently. I believe they have gotten use to me, they don't run away any longer.

Mr. Squirrel

Paco Returns

Paco is back again this winter. He is such a beautiful woodpecker. The photos are heavily cropped so my photos do not do him much justice. He is a lot of fun to watch though and glad he is back.

What Was I Thinking?

So I was viewing a video course on the Canon 60d that I am oh so wanting desperately, when one of the segments was on flash exposure. I had taken the photo on the left without a flash because with the flash I kept blowing out the snowman. I forgot totally that I can control the flash exposure. So I dialed the flash exposure as far down as I could and the result is what I got on the right. What a difference wouldn't you say? I need to spend time going over the basics again. I'm amazed at how much I have forgotten.

Merry Christmas

To all of you in the blogging world. May you have a very Merry Christmas. I hope today brings you nothing but joy, happiness and good times.

What can I say, once I started taking photos of the ornaments on my tree I couldn't stop.

110 Days

Until the 2012 Cincinnati Reds firework events start. YAY!!! I know right... SERIOUSLY?

17 December 2011

So my electricity went out today, shock-a-roo, so I grabbed my camera and headed on out. It was really overcast (mother nature's diffuser) so I cropped out a lot of the sky. I think my balance is a little off as every one of my photos came out crooked.

I know this photo looks a little busy but I like it that way.

Headed to Bellevue Kentucky

So I headed out to Bellevue to find me some lunch, ended up at Subway then Hooter's parking lot to eat. Yes I said Hooter's. Managed a few photographs whilst I was there.

They have nicknamed this bridge the Big Mac Bridge, because of the golden arches. Don't blame me I didn't come up with it.

The top of Mt. Adams.

I wonder if geese taste like chicken?...hehehe just kidding. I wonder who wrote the name Johanna on the bridge in the background?

Around My Neighborhood

I took a little tour of the park around my house. This is such a great park to hang around in. I can't believe this is December. We are getting into the low 60's this week. Un-bee-leev-able.

We got new signs all around the park. Awesome!

Don't forget to visit the museum while you're here in the park.

This is part of the golf course.

From my yard.

Ummmm bush.

Prisoner's Lake.

What can I say...even the bathrooms are awesome.

Around Covington

So I decided to get my lazy butt out of the house and took my camera with me. I just stayed in the area, these are some of the photos I took around the Covington area.

The Ohio River is rising again, not sure if it has peaked yet or if it is going to rise more.

I see dead people.

Guess you learn something new everyday. Had no idea that Covington was named after a general. "Do you think this hat makes me look fat?"

Last time I checked the top condo is still available. If you are interested I believe the list price is affordable to those of you that make as much as Donald Trump. A mere $5,000,000.00 and it is yours. Holy over the top Batman.
