The birth of my infatuation or perhaps I should say my obsession with photography began in the mid nineties. Then my main subjects were my children, since my children have left the nest for many years now my passion for photography has never faded but rather grown in a different direction. I have discovered that beauty is never ending, taking on forms that I could have never imagined. I feel blessed that my world has expanded through photography and hope my passion never weakens.

More Spring Time Flowers

Really enjoying flower photography.

A different view of the Roebling Bridge. Well I didn't say it was exactly a nice view.

Still Here

I'm still here. I can't believe it has been nearly 10 days since my last post.  I tried to photograph a storm the other evening, wow it was actually a week ago already, and....well....the photographs were just terrible.
My first mistake was raising my ISO to 800. Way to much noise. I was able to get rid of a bit of the noise in post processing but still very noticeable.  I also set my focus for the distant sky when I really should have tried to focus on the tree, everything in front of the sky is blurry....in every photo. Believe it or not the sky was full of lightning however, it lit only the clouds, no full strikes. The storm season is still early.

Old Man in the Park

When I first spotted this man walking from his car I thought he was going to fall several times. He looked to be in his 80's. It wasn't until I finished photographing that I noticed he was doing the same. I do hope that when I am his age I am still passionate about photography.

Trees

Flowers

This weekend I stayed much closer to home and decided to hang out in Devou Park. Everything and I mean everything is already blooming and has been for over a week now. This should not have happened until the middle of April. Such a strange winter. Tomorrow it is suppose to be in the 80's. I'll bet next week it is going to snow. I tried out my closeup filter (I don't have a macro lens) and I have to admit that it performed better then I thought it would. I'll keep it. Well not like I was going to give it up anyway.

Further Down RT. 8

I have lived in Kentucky for 11 years now and I have never been to Bracken County. I headed down RT. 8 once again, this time almost 40 miles. I was only about 5 miles from Augusta, KY, it was getting late so I decided to wait for the next trip before exploring the town. Once I hit Augusta I am only about 18 miles to Maysville, KY which is my goal. I was amazed at all the abandon houses not to mention the amount of barns that were falling apart. I wanted to explore inside all of them but parking for some was such an issue, not to mention that I really wasn't wearing the right shoes. I'll have to throw my boots in the backseat of the car.
