The birth of my infatuation or perhaps I should say my obsession with photography began in the mid nineties. Then my main subjects were my children, since my children have left the nest for many years now my passion for photography has never faded but rather grown in a different direction. I have discovered that beauty is never ending, taking on forms that I could have never imagined. I feel blessed that my world has expanded through photography and hope my passion never weakens.

Septic Sprung A Leak
Everything wasn't coming up roses where I live recently. Our septic system line got crushed and had to be replaced. It was really stinky around here. Glad it is fixed, also glad that if it was going to happen it happened in the colder months.
I'm the only one that can actually think of a bright side to raw sewage running down my driveway.

Happy New Year!
Hello blog world. Hope the new year has brought you wonderful surprises so far. I know I haven't been around for a few days, I haven't been out photographing, the weather has turned cold, the wind has picked up and I have been nestled snugly in my cabin. We had a bit of snow yesterday that brought a whole mess of accidents, including a 30 car pile up on Interstate 75 just south of Richmond. No reports of serious injuries...whew! The weekend is suppose to bring back the 50's (it's been a crazy mild winter) so I am thinking about heading out to see what I can photograph. Let me double check that forecast one more time.......Friday in the 50's then 40's over the weekend. Still decent weather to head on out. So if you're bored over the weekend head on back here to check out where I've been. Catch you later.

What Was I Thinking?
So I was viewing a video course on the Canon 60d that I am oh so wanting desperately, when one of the segments was on flash exposure. I had taken the photo on the left without a flash because with the flash I kept blowing out the snowman. I forgot totally that I can control the flash exposure. So I dialed the flash exposure as far down as I could and the result is what I got on the right. What a difference wouldn't you say? I need to spend time going over the basics again. I'm amazed at how much I have forgotten.

So my electricity went out today, shock-a-roo, so I grabbed my camera and headed on out. It was really overcast (mother nature's diffuser) so I cropped out a lot of the sky. I think my balance is a little off as every one of my photos came out crooked.
I know this photo looks a little busy but I like it that way.
