The birth of my infatuation or perhaps I should say my obsession with photography began in the mid nineties. Then my main subjects were my children, since my children have left the nest for many years now my passion for photography has never faded but rather grown in a different direction. I have discovered that beauty is never ending, taking on forms that I could have never imagined. I feel blessed that my world has expanded through photography and hope my passion never weakens.

Cincinnati Reds Firework Friday Begins

I know I have a lot of firework photos this time around but I have to admit that I am shocked at how many I actually like. The fireworks themselves were so much better then opening nights. I was hoping to still have the park to myself, unfortunately I had to share with way to many children. There were also quite a few photographers as well, hope they got as lucky as I did. Next event in two weeks. You would think I would be getting tired of this, NO WAY!!! Hope you enjoy.

This is why you always check to make sure you have everything framed correctly.

This was photographed right after the grand finale.

Hangin in Devou Park

The clouds were spectacular today so I thought I would run up to the top of Devou Park to photograph the city not to mention the photographing the clouds. Did variations of color and black/white photos. Throw in a couple of flowers and you get easily an hour of blissful wasted time. Heading down RT. 8 again this weekend, hoping to make it all the way to Maysville. Stay tuned its going to be a busy weekend.

Checking Out the Clouds

Tomorrow Night

I haven't been out much this week, that will change tomorrow night when I'll be out photographing fireworks again. Can't wait.

Journey to Rabbit Hash, KY

I had quite the eventful day. This afternoon Greg asked me if I would like to join him on one of his lazy afternoon cruises, he said he was going to head to Rabbit Hash, KY. For those of you that may be reading this and are not familiar with the area, Rabbit Hash is a very small town that lies on the banks of the Ohio River, it is a quaint little spot, however nothing prepared me for what was around the bend, we will get to that later. The first two photos I couldn't pass up, who can just drive by without stopping to check out the baby calf. Sooooo cute.

On our way to Rabbit Hash we made an ever so slight detour which brought us to the Creation Museum. (Two photos above) I heard so many good things about the grounds that I just had to check it out. We both decided that we would have to come back to tour the Museum but at $25.00 a person we'll wait for a rainy day. I plan on coming back in the fall to walk the grounds, at least that is free.

The above two photo are just random shots on our way to Rabbit Hash.
Below is what we first saw when rounding the bend, holy shit crap talk about biker mania.  I would have to say that 90% of the bikes were Harley's with 90% of the people being over the age of 50, we fit right in, with the age thing that is, well the Harley thing too but....well lets just end the comparison their.

I asked these guys if I could take their photo, the guy with the black beard said for $10.00. Don't think so. I think these guys were pretty darn close to 60.

To the City and Back

With the weather so crappy I thought I would head to Eden Park, I hadn't been there since the fall. My thought was that with it being so cloudy and storms in the forecast that the park would be empty. I thought wrong, I couldn't even find a parking spot so I headed back into the city, maybe it was just me but nothing really jumped out at me to photograph, the few photos that I did manage to capture I decided to do some heavy processing.
I didn't notice the bird at first on the wire...Wasn't that a movie "Bird on a Wire?"

What a great mural. Are they singing or screaming?
What do you do with a boring photo? Over process it of course.

Thunderstorm

Right now another storm is developing and it looks like it is heading this way, to head up to the park or not, just not sure. Oh how I love a good storm.

Let the Countdown Begin

One more week until the official start of the Cincinnati Reds Firework Friday!!!

More From the Storm

Thought I would add a few more photos from the storm the other day, the forecast for the next few days is a chance of storms again. Trying to get lightning photos is almost as fun as photographing fireworks.

The famous Devou Park Golf Course tree.

My First Lightning Photo. YAY!!!

After years of trying to photograph lightning I finally achieved my goal. Not impressive by any means, what makes this just a little bit more special is the fact that I managed to photograph this without a tripod. My daughter said "lucky shot Mom," I said "it was all skill."
